Jess Benson, MS, LPCC

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Jess has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years; with experience in community outreach, school-based, crisis response/stabilization, inpatient and outpatient settings/programs. Jess is currently a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Morris.

SPECIALTIES / AREAS OF INTEREST: Jess is passionate about working with and advocating for diverse populations of all ages but particularly enjoys working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, stress and big life changes.

SPECIAL TRAINING: Jess is trained in DC 0-5, TF-CBT, MAP, and holds additional certification in school-based service delivery. Jess strongly believes in and advocates for cultural sensitivity in assessment and treatment.

POPULATIONS TREATED: Jess works with all ages and populations but really enjoys her work with children and adolescents.

PERSONAL INTERESTS: When not at work, Jess is probably doing something outside. She enjoys spending time and traveling with her partner and family, being with her animals, and finding good deals at the thrift store. She is originally from the North Shore of Minnesota and values her visits back to the big lake and being able to spend time in nature.
