Stellher Counseling Services provides mental health services to infants, children and adults.
Stellher Counseling Services provides mental health therapy to individuals and families who request services. Services are provided by licensed mental health professionals who include licensed independent clinical social workers and licensed professional clinical counselors. Services begin with a diagnostic assessment. A diagnostic assessment is an evaluation of a person's current life situation and sources of stress. The result is a recommendation for needed mental health services.

Self-pay and most health care plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, MN Care, Prime West, South Country Alliance, and Medical Assistance are accepted.

Stellher Counseling Services serves all clients regardless of inability to pay. Discounts for essential services are offered depending on family size and income. Applications for discounted rates can be obtained at our Detroit Lakes Outpatient Office.
McKenzie Schultz, MSW, LGSW – Mental Health Practitioner – Clinical Trainee
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from The University of North Dakota. I have worked as a Child Protection Case Manager; a Mental Health Practitioner, offering CTSS and ARMHS services to individuals with behavioral and mental health concerns; a Supervisor and Direct Support Professional working with adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities; and have worked with adults involved in the correctional system.
LICENSURE: Licensed Graduate Social Worker, Mental Health Practitioner/Clinical Trainee
SPECIALTY: I enjoy providing individual therapy to a variety of populations including; children, adolescents, young adult through late adulthood using solution focused, person-centered, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioral modalities. My areas of specialty are with adolescents through young adulthood, especially those with behavioral difficulties, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, and children and their families involved with the child protection and foster care systems.
Becky Aaland, MS – Mental Health Practitioner - Clinical Trainee
I graduated from Northcentral University in 2017 with my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked in this field for over a decade, passionately advocating for individuals whose lives had been impacted by poverty, intimate partner violence, child abuse, lack of access to resources and refugee status. I have experience working with couples, families and individuals from diverse ethnicities and lifestyles including the LGBTQ community. I strive to provide service excellence to clients, our agency, and the community.

SPECIALTY: I enjoy working with the Adult Mental Health Crisis Stabilization program, Mental Health Crisis & Response, In-home and Community-based Mental Health. I am now doing Outpatient Services in Detroit Lakes, providing family and individual therapy. I have a passion for advocacy and empowerment when working alongside clients.
